'Imagining sustainable communities for a flourishing future'
On: Thursday 27th April 2-4pm
At: The Chapel, Ormskirk
The main purpose of this event was to nurture cross-community dialogue, bring decision-makers and community members together to take stock of emerging issues about the climate crisis, sustainability, and the environment. This event will feed into a wider strategic public engagement process involving 17 counties in the north.
With a diverse range of attendees, from decision-makers, academics, and members of the West Lancs community, we explored issues of climate change, sustainability, our local environment and how we might work together for flourishing communities in the North-West.
Our conversations were captured by a graphic artist and by theatre practitioners who created a short performance based on our ideas. Hence, these creative outputs fed into the Lancashire Climate Action and Net Zero Forum that took place at Edge Hill University in May 2023 involving organisations and local authorities from across the North West, so that local voices were heard at this Forum.
