The main aim of this micro-pilot, FlourishCafé community event, was to help to tackle socio-economic disadvantage, exclusion, discrimination, and a lack of belonging between socio-economically disadvantaged groups and more affluent groups within Bath and Twerton communities. We also aimed to forge better connections between disparate groups with the aim of building a more tolerant, cohesive, connected, and integrated local community with the ultimate aim of contributing to flourishing for all.
With a diverse range of attendees, from local authority decision-makers, academics, and members of the communities from within Twerton, Bath, and surrounds, we explored issues of community, belonging, and flourishing together as one.
Our conversations were captured by a graphic artist who created a set of artistic pieces based on our discussions together. These creative outputs fed into local authority initiatives that aimed to support better services, capacity, and community for local residents within Twerton and surrounds.
